The holiday season is upon us, and here at Settlers Creek, we’re thrilled to kick off the festivities with a meaningful tradition. This year, we’re excited to join Morguard’s North Pole Express, a four-week donation drive dedicated to bringing joy and comfort to children in foster care. We’ve teamed up with Comfort Cases, an incredible nonprofit that supports children in need, and we’d love for our Settlers Creek community to get involved in making a difference this holiday season!
What Is the North Pole Express? 🎅
This isn’t your ordinary holiday drive—it’s about making a real impact. The North Pole Express is a nationwide initiative that unites Morguard communities like Settlers Creek to collect essentials for children in foster care. For the next four weeks, we’re turning our lobby into a festive drop-off point where you can contribute to spreading joy to kids who need it most.
Who Are We Supporting? 💙
We’re proud to partner with Comfort Cases, a nonprofit founded by Rob Scheer, who grew up in the foster system. Rob started Comfort Cases to change the heartbreaking reality that many foster children enter care with their belongings in trash bags. Comfort Cases provides these children with backpacks filled with essentials like pajamas, books, blankets, and hygiene products—items that offer them a sense of dignity and comfort during tough times.
These comfort cases are more than just backpacks—they’re a way to show these kids that they are valued, cared for, and not forgotten.
How You Can Make a Difference 🎁
We invite our amazing Settlers Creek residents to join us in bringing smiles to children this holiday season! From now through December 13th, we’re collecting the following items in our lobby:
- New pajamas (all sizes)
- Diaper wipes (packs of 10-48)
- Children’s books (every child deserves a bedtime story)
- Small blankets & stuffed animals (for comfort and warmth)
- Baby washcloths (to keep little ones clean)
Please remember, all items must be new and unused and should not be religious or holiday-themed to ensure they’re appropriate for all children.
